Lockdown 1

Nationwide lockdown

Phase 1: 25 March 2020 – 14 April 2020 (21 days)  I  Phase 2: 15 April 2020 – 3 May 2020 (19 days)

During the COVID‑19 lockdown, I played a frontline leadership role in safeguarding communities and supporting essential services across Navi Mumbai. Drawing on my HSE, security, and emergency‑response expertise, I worked closely with police teams, municipal authorities, and hospitals to strengthen on‑ground safety systems during a period of unprecedented uncertainty.

My day began at 03:30 AM, long before the city stirred. Each morning, I prepared tea, green tea, coffee, biscuits, and sterilised water for hand‑washing and face hygiene — simple but vital gestures that kept frontline personnel energised and protected during their long, exhausting shifts. I was accompanied every day by my close student and friend, Sri Siddhanth Patil from Agroli Gaon, CBD Belapur, whose sincerity and dedication added strength to our mission.

Together, we reached out to all COVID Warriors who were struggling to keep pace with the unexpected demands of the crisis. We personally served police officers on duty at the Navi Mumbai Police Commissioner’s Office and every Swachhata Doot who continued working unconditionally while the rest of the world remained confined indoors. These were individuals who carried the weight of the city on their shoulders, and our role was to ensure they felt supported, valued, and cared for.

Beyond these daily rituals, my contributions included:

  • Coordinating emergency movement protocols for essential workers

  • Supporting police and municipal teams in maintaining safe public operations

  • Guiding community‑level compliance with health and safety directives

  • Assisting vulnerable groups with access to essential support

  • Providing technical guidance on infection‑control practices and risk mitigation

  • Strengthening rapid‑response coordination for local authorities and residential societies

This period was more than a crisis — it was a profound test of resilience, empathy, and leadership. It reaffirmed my belief that safety is not merely a system or a checklist; it is a culture built through service, compassion, and collective responsibility.
